Tactile/Kinesthetic Learners: learn through moving, doing and touching... Most dancers fall in this category.

These people learn best through a hands-on approach, actively exploring the physical world around them. They may find it hard to sit still for long periods and may become distracted by their need for activity and exploration. These learners will benefit from using Salsa Grooves to practice their moves while identifying certain rhytmical patterns and playing with the speed of the melody.

Auditory Learners: learn through listening...

They learn best through verbal lectures, discussions, talking things through and listening to what others have to say. Auditory learners interpret the underlying meanings of speech through listening to tone of voice, pitch, speed and other nuances. These learners can benefit from listening to a rhythmical pattern with Salsa Grooves in order to recognize it within a salsa song.

Visual Learners: learn through seeing... Most dancers fall in this category.

These learners need to see the teacher's body language and facial expression to fully understand the content of a lesson. They tend to prefer standing at the front of the classroom to avoid visual obstructions (e.g. people's heads). These learners will benefit from visualizing the rhythmical patterns such as Clave and Montuno with Salsa Grooves.

While most salsa dancers learn patterns and footwork in the classroom, they have few or no tools to learn timing and musicality. In order to master timing and develop a strong sense of musicality, we need to be able “think in sounds, rhythms and patterns”. In other words, we need to be able to produce music with our voice, and we need to be able to discern a rhythmical pattern such as the Clave from another, such as the Tumbao. This is easier said than done but if we have a tool that allows us to see a pattern while we hear it, we are more than half way there!

Salsa Grooves is the only tool in the market that helps you visualize and listen to a rhythmical salsa pattern such as Clave so you can develop a memory of this pattern in your brain, later on making it easier to discern it within a salsa song.

Whatever your style of learning, Salsa Grooves will help you develop a clearer sense of musicality by visually isolating each salsa rhythm on its own so you can learn to recognize it and dance to it within a salsa song. This is the easiest way to stay on time without having to count while you are executing your patterns or following!
