I cannot hear the instruments or voice played by Salsa Grooves |
Troubleshooting | |
Problem Description: When playing a Session, either the voice or the instruments cannot be heard even when the volume of all patterns within the Salsa Grooves interface is up. Reason: This has to do with your computer's volume settings. The voice and the instruments are played by different parts of your audio card. Voice plays via the "Wave" device and the instruments are played via the "MIDI Synthesizer". Each device (Wave and MIDI) have their own volume control. When using your computer, it is possible that some application needed to lower one of these volume controls and never turned it back on.
Solution: 1. Verify that your computer is set to use the default MIDI device. You only need to do this if you are not able to hear the instruments. Do the following to accomplish this:

Figure 3 shows an example of the "Volume Control" dialog. You dialog may have less or more sliders depending on your computer's configuration. The ones you are interested in are "Wave" for the voice and "SW Synth" for the instruments. If you don't see any of these sliders, go to the "Options >> Properties" menu, add checkmarks to the sliders you'd like to see and click OK.

You can verify that it is working by running Salsa Grooves and playing with the volume sliders. Tip: You might want to find a good balance between the "Wave" volume and the "SW Synth" volume. By doing this you will ensure Salsa Grooves has a good balance of volume between the Voice and the instruments. |
